The Tenerife Entertainment Awards would like to point out some of the guidelines and processes that lead to the categories, nominations and voting for the awards:

1. Categories:
The awards are open to acts that fit into any of the following categories with the following classification:
BEST MALE SINGER: male solo singer, can be resident in a venue. Billed as themselves.
BEST FEMALE SINGER: female solo singer, can be resident in a venue. Billed as themselves.
BEST TRIBUTE ACT: act of one or more members, billed as the tribute or them as the tribute.
BEST BAND: two or more members with instruments. Can be resident in a venue.
BEST SOLO PERFORMER: one person with an instrument. Can be resident in a venue.
BEST GROUP: two or more members without instruments. Can be resident in a venue.
BEST COMPERE: one person who is resident in a bar, karaoke bar, cabaret bar or hotel, without instruments.
BEST VARIETY ACT: a variety show act such as dancers, drag artists, mime artists, hypnotist, magic show, comedian, etc.
BEST DJ: any Tenerife based DJ in a club, fun pub, or radio station.
BEST NEWCOMER: any new act or show for any category within the last 12 months.
ENTERTAINER OF THE YEAR: voted for by the entertainers only.

To qualify for the nominations, an act/artist must have been based in Tenerife and performed during the 12 month period from 1st July 2012 to 30th June 2013.
(Please note all nominees must be over 18 and work on the Tenerife cabaret circuit)

2. Private message your nominations on facebook through Tenerife Entertainment Awards page.

3. Write your nominations in the cut-out coupon in the Canarian Weekly, and drop in at our offices in Las Chafiras.

3. Voting:
The nominees are being announced on DATE TBA on Oasis Fm. The top 4 nominated artists (or 40% if more than 12 people nominated in a category), will be eligible to be voted for.

2. Text your votes to 653 958 101.
Simply text the names of the people you want to vote for. Text number is a standard cost Orange network mobile, available to text from any mobile at a national cost of 0.15 euros, or at an international cost of 0.60 euros per sms text.

3. Private message your votes on facebook through Tenerife Entertainment Awards page.

4. There is NO public vote for the TBA category, as these nominees are performing live at the event, with a live vote on the day.

5. You may vote for as many different people in as many different categories as you like, but only one vote per nominee from any facebook person or mobile number will be accepted.

4 Other:
Any act/artist may request to be removed from nomination or voting for the awards, for whatever reason they deem necessary, and the Tenerife Entertainment Awards will remove them as requested.

In the event that an act/artist withdraws from the live vote category at the awards ceremony, they will be replaced by the next nominated act who will perform and compete for the live vote.
